A New Home For Aspen
About a month ago I received a call from a gentleman that was in poor health and trying to find a place for his 6 year old companion Aspen. This wasn't a decision he made lightly. We talked for awhile and I asked him to come out and see our place. I knew he wasn't ready to make this transition but he knew he had to do it, so I told him whenever it was right for him. He did come out and see the rescue and fell in love with it. He left and said he'd be in touch. In the meantime a very good friend of mine had told me she was looking to add a mid aged dog into her family, hopefully one that would play with the younger dog because her older one couldn't keep up with him. When I heard about Aspen I called her and told her, she was thrilled. Her and the gentleman exchanged numbers and talked for a few days back and forth, just so he would feel even better about Aspen leaving his home.
Last week the day came to go pick her up. He was, of course, very upset over this, but at the same time relieved, as we all were, that she would be going straight into another loving home. Aspen now has two wonderful dog friends to play with, and two loving parents to care for her the rest of her days. Happy Tails Aspen.
